Everything you need to know about microblading
What is microblading and how is it different than traditional cosmetic tattooing?
Microblading differs from conventional tattooing because it is a manual procedure that is semi permanent. When using a sterile Tina Davies hand held disposable micro blade, the pigment is deposited into the superficial dermis of the skin closer to the surface than when a machine is used. This leaves very fine and crisp hair strokes that resembles natural eyebrow hairs. This technique creates a fuller and more natural looking brow by imitating your own hair growth.
Microblading is the best alternative for makeup or other permanent makeup procedures. It looks very natural and is semi-permanent, so there is no major commitment. You will love the results of microblading!
How will I know that my brows will look perfect for me?
You will have a personal eyebrow consultation that takes place before the procedure. First, we determine the correct color and shape to your own unique features and bone structure that balances and gives a symmetrical appearance to your eyes and face structure. Then we determine exactly what you want, and what's realistic for your face. Before any procedure begins, we take detailed measurements and graphing of your bone structure, and draw your eye brows in to lock down the perfect thickness, length and contour. We will make sure sure you are satisfied in every way with the shape before beginning the procedure.
What happens during the procedure?
The next step after perfecting the look, is to apply a topical numbing lidocaine to your brow area. When your brow area is completely numb, we gently microblade very thin hair strokes in between the natural brow hairline to mimic the look of natural hair strokes. The actual microblading procedure is actually the shortest part of your appointment.
How long does the pigmentation last?
Microblading tends to last between 18-36 months after the initial 35 day first ReTouch. After this period of time, you may need a color boost or refresh.
Is the procedure painful?
The Procedure is relatively painless. Like all semi-permanent procedures, microblading requires a topical anaesthetic. We use the most effective topical anesthesia available which can be applied throughout the procedure making it very tolerable. There are several things we recommend prior to your procedure, to make your skin less sensitive. We recommend no caffeine, no alcohol, and to not schedule your appointment around your menstrual cycle. Some say tweezing their eyebrows is more painful than microblading.
What will I look like after my procedure?
Your eyebrows will look beautiful! The area will appear darker at first because of the blood and lymph fluid that has been brought to the surface during the application. The procedure area tissue will crust a bit and this tissue will slough off usually within 5-7 days, leaving you with a softer color. This will be repeated at your touch up appointment. After 1 month, the color will fade between 40-70%.
How do I care for my brows?
Specific aftercare instructions are given before leaving your appointment to assure exactly how to heal and maintain your beautiful brows until your next brow ReTouch.
